Honeymoon planning does not have to be stressful.  Follow these five steps and you will be on your way.

1. Do you want activities?  You need to consider this for honeymoon planning. Do you want to sight see or learn a new skill together, like cooking classes or painting? Or do you want to lie on the beach and recover from your wedding? Even if you want to plan tours of your destination,  include a couple of nights at a resort to just unwind after the wedding, then let the tours begin!

2. Set a budget. Price plane tickets and hotels, so you can narrow down your choices based on how much you can spend. Consider postponing the honeymoon to a less expensive season—or purchasing cheaper plane tickets because you’re booking farther in advance—might be worth it, maybe Tahiti could work afterall!

3. Consider the weather. Summer is a popular time for weddings, but our summer is winter in parts of the world like Australia. It can also be unbearably hot and humid in some destinations.  You should also consider the season in terms of crowds. Summer can be a popular time for all tourists, not just honeymooners.

 4. Travel Time.  If you only have a week off of work, do you want to spend two days on an airplane? Look at how long flights are—and consider jet lag—before making a decision.  Considering Thailand? You should plan 10 days or more, three days will be used by travel alone.  You might want to pick somewhere closer , so you can maximize your  time. Spend more time on the beach and less on the plane!

5. Talk to a travel agent. Overwhelmed and stressed with wedding planning, let someone else manage the honeymoon details. Travel agents because of relationships with resorts, and maybe be able to get you upgrades, like champagne in the room or a better room.
